Parents coming in town for a visit? Better brace yourself…

So I was on one of my favorite sites…www.collegehumor.com.  If you haven’t visited it, I would highly suggest you check it out!  It is hilarious!  I love to browse around and view the videos.  Here’s one that I thought was pretty funny:

I love the beginning when he says: “Wait, I’m paying for dinner?”.  While you may not have those types of people for your parents, we can all relate to our parents being a little crazy sometimes right?  And we are their children, so we have to put up with it.  It can be funny…but usually it is more embarrassing then funny!  Either that or they just can make you feel like shit sometimes!  Ok…ok…I’m not saying that it’s always that bad (and it certainly isn’t anything like these 2 for me), but our folks can really make us feel really great or really bad sometimes! :)   We’ve all had that experience as adults when our parents come into town.  It’s usually pretty exciting at first right?  Then they settle in, and their idiosyncrasies start to come out…especially the ones that bother us the most!  But, don’t worry, I love my parents.  They’re just a little crazy sometimes! :)

A modern hold up…

Back in the 1800′s a story about an attempted train hold up wouldn’t be big news.  That was a main source of travel for many wealthy people and a robber could stand to make a lot of money.  If you heard of one if would be ridiculous right?  I mean, when I think of train robberies, I immediately conjure up images of those silent films from a while back.  You know the ones I am talking about.  They looked like this:

So when I heard about this shooting in Oregon, I was shocked.  Yeah, we can’t be sure that there was really an attempted hold up, but it seems awfully odd right? I mean it was headed towards the engineer so you have to wonder if it was intentional.  Unfortunately, the story doesn’t get specific enough to mention who was boarded on the train.  That might give us a better idea of what the shots were intended for.  Was someone trying to perform an old fashioned train robbery?  Pretty scary stuff…
