Car Title Loans are useful for everyone…

If you haven’t gotten the picture by now from many of my posts, I am a big sports fan.  I have been a sports fan my whole life and one of my all time

favorite football players was Bernie Kosar.  So I was sad to see the news last week that he was forced to file for bankruptcy.  I had heard about his personal woes starting with his divorce and his wife’s accusations that he had drug and alcohol problems (I have listened to his play by play that he had done recently for Cleveland Browns preseason games and other interviews done down in South Florida where he starred in college and had suspected from his slurred words that he had an alcohol problem), but he seemed to be such a smart guy that I was still surprised to see that he would be losing his fortune.  I mean he graduated from the University of Miami early and on the football field he was always much

better known for his smarts than his actual skills.  So it just goes to show that any of us can find ourselves in an emergency  financial situation.  In fact, the article I linked you to above talks about other former atheletes who have been hit hard by the current economic depression.  The point is that whoever you are, financial woes can hit you at anytime.  It is good to know then, that you do have alternatives.  In past posts, I have linked you to many online car title loan lenders that I recommended.  I have also linked you to nonprofits who can help you towards better credit.  The cool thing about car title loans at these companies is that your credit is not an issue! So while you are working your way back to better credit, at least you know you have options.  For example, let’s say you are in Chicago and looking for a car title loan lender in Illinois, just go to this linked site and take a look.  You can get money in your hands in very little time and get yourself to a financial place that allows you to breathe a little easier.  Even famous athletes like Bernie Kosar are not immune to our country’s economic woes so if you find yourself in a tough situation you can know that you aren’t alone…

If you never had a chance to see Bernie in his prime, here is a little clip of him actually scrambling for a long run!

Some thoughts on Mark Sanford…

I just read an article on aol.com about South Carolina governor Mark Sanford.  In case you haven’t heard about the controversy surrounding this man, it came out this past week that neither his staff nor his wife knew where he was over the weekend.  He had misled them into believing he had gone hiking when, in fact, he was in Argentina continuing his affair with his mistress.  And it also came out that during the fires in S. Carolina a few months back when he was unavailable, that he was also in Argentina.  The article states that he considered resigning.  He actually said: “Resigning would be the easiest thing to do.”  Sorry, man, not sure that it would be the “easiest” thing, but it sure as hell would be the “right” thing in my mind.  And I hear all the judgments about what an asshole he is for doing this to his wife and children (it was fathers day when he was out of town visiting with his mistress) or the hypocricy because he was so critical of Bill Clinton during the whole Monica Lewinsky scandal, but I don’t think you can legally fire someone for being an asshole or a hypocrite.  And that is probably a good thing.  I don’t think you should be able to lose your job for those reasons.  But what you can fire someone for is using public funds to see your mistress (the quote from the article: “Sanford repeatedly said he did not use public money for the trip, so it was not clear why he has agreed to reimburse the state for some of the more-than $8,000 in taxpayer money spent on the Argentina leg of an economic development trip to South America last year.”) and lying to your own staff about your whereabouts to the point where you cannot be found.  That seems like gross misconduct by a public official.  I mean that has to be part of the job description when you take on such an important role as governor of a state.   In case of emergency you must be in touch and people have to know your whereabouts.  By taking the job, you give up certain privacy rights that the rest of us have.  Well, just wanted to chime in here because I have been reading too much about the arguments of his religious and moral hypocrisy and what an ass he is to his family.  There is probably validity to all of those points, but I think we need to look at how that affects his duties as governor and I think it is clear that he abused his authority… Actually, after watching this sort of quote below, I’d say there is much validity to his being an asshole:

New government regulations and what this means for you…

I have been paying keen attention to all the regulations and legislation that are being put into effect in our country’s financial institutions. And I just read another interesting article that I am linking for you to view. I am going to point out some of the more interesting paragraphs and quotes from the article that I feel will affect the readers of www.boostmypaycheck.com.   I am not really passing judgement here on the new federal regulations, but am going to point to some interesting points that ultimately might mean considering a car title loan both in the present and future.  One analyst, Richard Bove, describes how one particular idea of forcing banks to keep more money in reserve will affect consumers:

“There’s a desire to continue to increase the capital base of the banking system, which is going to substantially reduce the amount of funds a bank can make available,” Rochdale’s Bove says. “But [Obama] wants to regulate all kinds of other industries [besides banks], and that drives up the cost of everything. If you need to set aside more capital, it drives up the cost of financing and it takes money out of the system, and we need that money to produce goods.”

Obviously, with banks less eager to give out loans, consumers with poorer credit will be affected most.  That is why car title loans may be a viable alternative if you are realistic with what you borrow and can afford to make the payments.  With certain car title loans, there is no credit check.  Here is a link to an online car title loan lender in Virginia that does not do credit checks.  Another analyst has a good take on credit card and finance regulations that applies to times when you are considering any kind of loan:

“Granted, the card industry needs to be reined in, but I think they’re missing the second part of the equation, and that’s consumer education,” Arnold says. “Reading the fine print, understanding the credit-card terms, is your protection as a consumer.”

So do your homework and at least no what you are getting yourself into whatver the case may be (credit car, bank loan, car title loan, etc…)

Obligatory Michael Jackson post…

Well, unless you live in complete isolation, you have undoubtedly heard the news of Michael Jackson’s death.  While I was never a huge fan of Michael, I do remember the days of Thriller and the “moon walk” with fondness.  And I did have a greatest hits CD of the Jackson 5.  I was admittedly shocked to hear the news.  Yes, Michael Jackson was a controversial figure, what with all the child molestation accusations, odd paranoias, and physical facial manifestations, but I saw this video on youtube that I liked and thought I’d share it with you:

Of course there was such odd and controversial behavior on MJ’s end that I always had mixed feelings about him as an icon. Here is a sample. I think anyone else who dangled a baby over the balcony would have gotten a visit from child custody services asap no?

And of course, what would a Michael Jackson tribute be without a good ol’ Michael Jackson South Park clip:

Ah, oh well. Rest in peace Michael…
